Interviews with Édouard Glissant by Hans Ulrich Obrist
Co-Edited by Seuil and LUMA.

Hans Ulrich Obrist and Édouard Glissant met towards the end of the 1990s in Paris, beginning a relationship of exceptional intensity that led to around ten public conversations and private interviews together.

Obrist's projects—exhibitions, performances, collective publications, the practice of maintenance and archiving, and the creation of territories and decentrality—are directly inspired by the concept of Globality as a perpetual process of connection. Édouard Glissant thus became a fundamental mentor for him.

This collection brings together, for the first time, several interviews conducted under various circumstances, highlighting the literary, philosophical, and political importance of Édouard Glissant, whose notion of the Archipelago continues to nourish the most profound contemporary reflections and research. This set of dialogues meets strong expectations in the worlds of art, thought, activism, and writing, and is supplemented by various archives and contributions from artists.

With Maja Hoffmann and LUMA, Hans Ulrich Obrist has developed a format that transcends a mere accumulation of interviews, creating a true infinite conversation linking people, cultures, languages, and disciplines
